[ARCHIVED] Blood Drive Scheduled for Monday and Tuesday at Fire Department

The City of Manhattan and the American Red Cross are hosting a blood drive Monday, Aug. 25 and Tuesday, Aug. 26 at Manhattan Fire Department Headquarters, 2000 Denison Ave.

The American Red Cross is on national appeal for blood. Each pint of blood donated has the potential to save up to three lives.

The need for blood is constant and only volunteer donors can fulfill that need for patients in our community. Nationwide, someone needs a unit of blood every two to three seconds, and most of us will need blood in our lifetime.

If anyone’s a little unsure about donating, please watch Madeline's story. Madeline wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for people who rolled up their sleeves and gave a pint of their life saving blood.

To make an appointment on Monday, sign up online here.

To make an appointment on Tuesday, sign up online here.

Or, you can contact the City’s Blood Drive Coordinator, Eli Martinson, at (785) 564-7603 or [email protected].
